Cassandra (“Cassi”) Harrison, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), serves as the Internship Alumni Council Representative (IACR), where she plays a key role in fostering ongoing engagement, networking, and professional development among former interns. In this capacity, she facilitates meaningful alumni connections, ensuring that past interns remain involved in the organization’s mission and initiatives. Cassi coordinates networking events, professional development opportunities, and mentorship programs, strengthening a thriving community of mental health and wellness professionals who support one another and contribute to the advancement of the field.
Through strategic outreach and communication, Cassi keeps alumni informed and engaged, managing channels such as newsletters and social media to provide updates, resources, and opportunities for continued involvement. She works closely with leadership to enhance alumni engagement initiatives, gathering feedback to improve program offerings and creating avenues for professional collaboration and resource sharing. Additionally, Cassi plays an active role in recruiting and mentoring future interns, connecting alumni with prospective candidates and showcasing the impact of the internship experience.
Beyond her work as IACR, Cassi is an LPC specializing in trauma and PTSD, substance use issues, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, self-esteem, perinatal mental health, and family conflict. She takes a humanistic, client-centered approach, integrating mindfulness, existential, person-centered, and Gestalt therapy techniques to provide individualized, empowering care.
Cassi earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health and Addictions Counseling from Kent State University in August 2024, following her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the same institution. During her practicum at Kent State University, she provided counseling to diverse college students navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm, and relational conflicts.
With a passion for creating safe spaces for growth and healing, Cassi is a strong advocate for resiliency and empowerment, both in her clinical work and in her leadership role with alumni engagement. Her strengths—empathy, unconditional positive regard, genuineness, humor, flexibility, and passion—enable her to cultivate a connected, supportive alumni network while continuing to provide meaningful, individualized care to her clients.
