Susanna Campbell (pronouns: she/her) is a licensed professional counselor who works with pre-teens, adolescents, and adults. Her specialty interests include: college student experiences, gender and sexuality issues, blended families, adjustment issues, and identity development. She utilizes treatment approaches that are integrative, evidence-based, and uniquely tailored to each client.
Susanna completed her advanced education at Eastern Michigan University, earning a master’s degree in clinical counseling with a specialization in college students. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Otterbein University with minors in French and gender and sexuality studies.
Prior to joining Wellness Grove, Susanna worked with clients in university and private practice settings over the past two years. Her experience includes counseling individuals 13 and older on issues pertaining to anxiety, depression, mood disorders, adjustment issues, and trauma recovery. She has also facilitated group work with clients processing their experiences in the LGBTQ+ community. Susanna is passionate about empowering individuals to strengthen and confidently claim their personal resiliency.
Beyond her clinical work, Susanna has four years of experience in college student affairs. Her experience includes first-generation student advocacy, academic and career counseling, leadership development, and community advocacy and engagement. Throughout her graduate studies, Susanna assisted in research regarding the mental health and academic persistence of under-represented students.
Susanna’s approach to counseling is collaborative and flexible. She works alongside clients to help them identify and develop stronger resources, both internal and external, even when life feels overwhelming or unclear. Additionally, Susanna is affirming of all gender identities, sexualities, and spiritual or religious practices, and strives to continuously learn more about the experiences of marginalized racial and cultural groups in relation to her counseling practice.
