By providing a warm and informative introduction to supports and services, this role helps potential clients understand area resources and the counseling process. The specialist supports community access to care through compassionate and responsive outreach.
Daytona Hedrick (pronouns: she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who serves as one of the organization’s Volunteer Specialists. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Kent State University in biology. Daytona furthered her education at Walsh University, earning a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling.
Daytona brings her science background to her counseling approach by utilizing evidence based interventions, highlighting the importance of the mind-body connection, and acceptance-based modalities. Her key areas of focus include women and girls’ issues, anxiety and panic disorders, trauma, and dissociative disorders. Daytona works to meet clients where they are and to build meaningful therapeutic relationships with all clients.
Daytona is passionate about building community connections and removing the barriers individuals face while trying to find counseling services. Daytona believes in the importance of a well-established therapeutic connection being the driving factor for success in counseling and this role allows her to help individuals find a counselor that they can connect, work, and grow with.
