Autumn Griffith (pronouns: she/her) is an Honors College student at Kent State University pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. She is passionate about mental health, child and adolescent development, and supporting individuals and families through compassionate, evidence-based care. Her professional interests include pediatric behavioral health, medical social work, and play therapy, with a long-term goal of becoming a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) serving children and families.
Prior to her internship, she worked as a research assistant in a psychology laboratory at Kent State University where she contributed to research examining perceived pain in individuals with chronic illness. Together, these opportunities have strengthened her understanding of both psychological research and applied mental health practices.
In addition to her academic and professional involvement, Autumn has demonstrated leadership through a variety of school, community, and faith-based organizations. She has mentored peers, coordinated events, led teams, and collaborated with others to foster supportive and inclusive environments. Her experiences reflect a strong commitment to service, personal growth, and advocacy as she prepares for a career dedicated to improving the well-being of children and families.
“The delivery of mental health and wellness services should be based on the needs of clients and the community.”
