Non-clinical interns have opportunities to interview clinicians in their areas of interest, contribute to evidence-based research and CEU content development, and explore specialized topics for publication.
Additional experiences include assisting with psychoeducational group therapy, attending community engagement and strategic partnership events, and learning clinical case conceptualization skills.
Beyond her clinical work, Gianna worked at a chiropractor’s office, where she was able to engage with and offer support to patients experiencing severe pain. As a nanny and babysitter, she was able to connect with and gain a better understanding of children and adolescents in their environments. Her work at a local yoga studio allowed her to develop an appreciation for mindfulness, grounding, and relaxation techniques. Additionally, she volunteered at Open Arms Adoptions, where she participated in community volunteer work. These experiences have strengthened her interpersonal skills and created a deep passion for working with individuals, children, and families.
Her strengths include: empathetic, nonjudgmental, she strives to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals feel heard, valued, and understood. She strives to meet each person where they are, recognize their unique strengths, and help them feel empowered to navigate challenges and work toward their goals.
