Hannah McCrae (pronouns: she/her) is a social worker trainee completing non-clinical work at Wellness Grove. Her specialty interests include adolescent issues, communication and conflict resolution, LGBTQ+ issues, trauma, and girls’ and women’s issues. She is passionate about evidence-based treatment approaches that meet clients’ unique and individual needs.
Hannah completed her advanced education at the University of Michigan, earning a bachelor’s degree with high honors in Gender and Health. She also completed specialized coursework in Spanish language and literature. She is currently a master’s student at The University of Akron, completing a degree in social work. Hannah is committed to a lifetime of learning and growth.
Prior to private practice, Hannah volunteered in health screening and outreach efforts serving unhoused populations and individuals experiencing food insecurity. She also worked as an anesthesia technician during her undergraduate years. These roles strengthened her commitment to empathetic practice and resource navigation.
Hannah’s approach to counseling is empathetic, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental. She is committed to fostering a therapeutic relationship rooted in compassion and mutual respect. She believes that healing requires respect and safety and she is dedicated to cultivating a space conducive to growth.
Her strengths include: empathy, openness, cultural humility, and commitment to advocacy.
