Social work interns consider the client’s individual mental health and wellness, environment, and community connections when providing care. Helping clients navigate complex life situations, sharing critical resources, and advocating for change in the face of social and systemic issues are core areas of practice.
Utilizing art with clients to heal and empower.
Art therapy interns use a variety of expressive modalities to help clients understand and process experiences to promote well-being. To address mental health and wellness concerns, interns have access to on-site materials such as acrylics, watercolors, oil pastels, charcoal, colored markers and pencils, clay, beads, collage materials, and 3D elements.
Focusing on interconnectedness of relationships and client well-being.
Marriage and family therapy interns help clients improve relationship dynamics, mental health, and wellness. Using a systems approach, interns can therapeutically address a variety of presenting concerns such as communication and boundary struggles, trust and infidelity concerns, differing values, role transitions, and unrealistic expectations.
