ANNA ELLENSON, LPC

Anna Ellenson (pronouns: she/her) is a licensed professional counselor who works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Her specialty interests include grief and loss counseling, end-of-life counseling, and adulthood and aging. She utilizes treatment approaches that are evidence-based and uniquely tailored to each client.

Anna completed her advanced education at Minnesota State University Moorhead, earning a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. Anna currently attends Kent State University’s counselor education and supervision doctoral program. She seeks to integrate her continued education into her clinical practice to ensure that she provides supportive and empowering care.

Anna has been a licensed professional counselor for two years and has worked in diverse mental health settings. She has provided counseling services in hospice-care settings, elementary schools, and on college campuses. Anna is additionally certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and mental health first-aid.

Beyond her clinical work, Anna engages in research and scholarship related to adulthood and aging, grief and loss, and death and dying. She has also presented at national counseling conferences on aging-related concerns and experiences of neurodiversity.

Anna’s counseling approach is person-centered and solution-focused. She believes that human growth and development is a dynamic process, and she sees her role as a counselor as someone who empowers clients to better understand their internal strength and resilience.
