A counselor trainee (CT) is a graduate counseling student seeking licensure as a professional counselor. Counselor Trainees have the same scope of practice as a professional counselor, but require much closer supervision during the training process.
Annemarie Mosley (pronouns: she/her) is a counselor trainee who works with children, adolescents, and adults. Her specialty interests include: anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, chronic illness, women’s issues, and first responder’s issues. She utilizes evidence-based treatment methods that are tailored to each individual client.
Annemarie completed her advanced education at The Ohio State University with double majors in public management, leadership, and policy and political science. She is currently a master’s student at John Carroll University completing a degree in clinical mental health counseling. Her coursework has included education on multicultural counseling, research methods, and motivational interviewing.
Prior to private practice, Annemarie served as a business enterprise consultant at Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. There, she empowered blind Ohioans by providing management consultation, acting as a liaison, and creating manuals to improve operational procedures and maintain quality standards.
Beyond her clinical work, Annemarie serves as a coach for the Northeast Ohio Council of Girls on the Run and a volunteer for a local animal rescue. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the John Carroll University chapter of the counseling honor society Chi Sigma Iota.
Annemarie’s approach to counseling is one that prioritizes the unique needs of each client through an understanding that we each have our own story. She prioritizes directness, authenticity, and trust-building to focus on growth and problem-solving. She combines a caring and non-judgmental attitude with action-oriented support. She believes the most important element in counseling is the trusting and empathetic bond between client and therapist.
Her strengths include: humility, genuineness, ethical integrity, and unconditional positive regard for her clients.
