
A counselor trainee (CT) is a graduate counseling student seeking licensure as a professional counselor. Counselor Trainees have the same scope of practice as a professional counselor, but require much closer supervision during the training process.
Christopher Cherullo (pronouns: he/him) is counselor trainee who works with young adults and adults. His specialty interests include: anxiety, depression, men’s issues, self-esteem, strengths, stress, and coping skills. He utilizes a person-centered approach alongside evidence-based techniques to promote mental health and wellness with clients.
Christopher completed his advanced education at the University of Dayton, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He is currently a master’s student at John Carroll University, completing his degree in clinical mental health counseling.
Prior to private practice, Christopher has had experience working in customer service jobs.
He has extensive volunteer work in the community such as assisting in a soup kitchen and has helped coordinate a medical mission trip in Honduras. These experiences helped him recognize the unique needs of individuals and the importance of helping relationships.
Christopher’s approach to counseling is collaborative and client centered. He emphasizes being supportive and making a judgement-free zone within the counseling office. He strives to create an environment for growth and exploration to assist clients in making great strides in their mental health journey.
His strengths include: humor, empathy, kindness, understanding, and the ability to see the positive side of things.
