

A licensed professional counselor (LPC) is a mental health provider who holds a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling and who has met all requirements set forth by the state licensure board to provide quality mental health care.
Olivia Strank (pronouns: she/her) is a licensed professional counselor who works with children, adolescents, and adults. Her specialty interests include: emotion regulation, anger management, anxiety and depression, substance use disorders, relationships and communication, and life transitions. Olivia values a collaborative approach between client and counselor and utilizes treatment approaches that are unique to each client.
Olivia completed her master’s degree in clinical rehabilitation through Kent State University and earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in career counseling at Kent State University. Through her formal education, Olivia gained the unique experience working with both individuals in the mental health field as well as individuals with disabilities to help them to achieve independence in different areas of life.
Prior to private practice, Olivia has worked with a diverse population of clients in outpatient community mental health settings as well as providing on-the-job support services.
Olivia has experience providing group therapy services to children and adolescents within the foster care system focusing on dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), behavioral management, coping skills, and problem-solving skills. She has also received training in motivational interviewing while providing clinical care to individuals with substance use disorders. In this work she focused on supporting self-efficacy among these clients.
Olivia’s therapeutic approach is rooted in having a strong therapeutic alliance and focuses on rapport building. Olivia recognizes the uniqueness present within each of her clients. Due to this belief, she tailors each client’s treatment to honor their needs, identify their strengths, and align with their goals. In addition to being a non-judgmental and compassionate listener she encourages clients to build autonomy while creating a safe environment to process and reflect.
Her strengths include: patience, humor, empathy, rapport building, meeting clients where they are at, open mindedness, and compassion.
