A licensed professional counselor (LPC) is a mental health provider who holds a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling and who has met all requirements set forth by the state licensure board to provide quality mental health care.

The second “C” (LPC“C”) denotes advanced clinical experience and knowledge as required by the state licensure board that allows for independent practice (meaning, without the need for supervision).

A Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) is a professional who has earned certification from the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board to assist individuals seeking services for addiction.

Olivia Weinzatl (pronouns: she/her) is an experienced licensed professional clinical counselor who works with adults. Her specialty interests include: addiction, relapse prevention, anxiety, depression, gratitude, and integrating client focused treatment modalities into counseling practice. She utilizes treatment approaches that are evidence-based and uniquely tailored to each client.

Olivia completed her advanced education at Kent State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies. Olivia earned a master’s degree from Youngstown State University in clinical mental health and addiction counseling. She also obtained a second licensure through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Board that entails specialized training in substance use disorders. She has a strong love of lifetime learning.

Prior to private practice, Olivia served 3 years in a community mental health setting and a substance use treatment facility. She has ample experience in assessments and evaluation, crisis intervention, and working with court appointed clients who experience substance use issues or other court involvement.

Olivia’s approach to counseling is relational, developmental (meeting client’s where they are in terms of readiness for change), and client-focused to ensure that care is specific to each individual. She believes that personal growth is the result of empowering connections that are rooted in safety, authenticity, vulnerability, and mutual respect. In addition to being a non-judgmental, compassionate listener she is a collaborative strength-builder and problem-solver. She is known for using humor, psychoeducation, metaphors, and coping skill development in sessions.

Her strengths include: kindness, respect, empathy, a love of learning, open-mindedness, and collaboration.
