A social worker trainee (SWT) is graduate social worker student seeking licensure as a professional social worker. Social Worker Trainees have the same scope of practice as a professional social worker, but require much closer supervision during the training process.
Paige Kuder (pronouns: she/her) is a social work trainee and graduate student currently pursuing her Master of Social Work and licensed social worker credentials. She is passionate about working with individuals across the lifespan and has experience supporting the geriatric population, with clinical interests including anxiety, ADHD, depression, addiction, trauma, grief, first responders, families, couples, and many other areas. Paige takes a person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach to care, utilizing evidence-based practices while tailoring treatment to each client's unique experiences, goals, and strengths.
Paige earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Studies from Kent State University in 2019 and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at The University of Akron while working toward licensure as a Licensed Social Worker. Her graduate education has included specialized coursework in clinical assessment, evidence-based interventions, ethics, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive practice, preparing her to work with individuals, families, and diverse populations. Through both her academic training and internship experiences, Paige continues to build the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide compassionate, individualized care. She is committed to lifelong learning and professional growth to best serve the evolving needs of her clients.
Prior to beginning her clinical internship, Paige gained more than two and a half years of experience providing behavioral health support to older adults in skilled nursing and long-term care settings. During this time, she worked closely with interdisciplinary care teams to support residents experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment to illness, and cognitive changes, while developing an appreciation for person-centered and compassionate care. These experiences strengthened her ability to build meaningful therapeutic relationships, navigate complex clinical needs, and advocate for clients' emotional well-being. Paige is committed to continuing her professional development as she expands her experience working with individuals and families across diverse populations.
Paige believes that meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, authenticity, and respect. She strives to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe exploring their experiences, identifying their strengths, and working toward their personal goals. Her clinical approach is person-centered, strength-based, and trauma-informed, integrating evidence-based interventions that are tailored to each client's unique needs and circumstances. Paige values collaboration throughout the therapeutic process and is committed to empowering clients with the tools, insight, and confidence to foster lasting growth and resilience.
Her strengths include: empathy, compassion, active listening, adaptability, cultural humility, a commitment to lifelong learning, and the ability to build genuine, trusting relationships with clients.
