CONTACT INFO

A counselor trainee (CT) is a graduate counseling student seeking licensure as a professional counselor. Counselor Trainees have the same scope of practice as a professional counselor, but require much closer supervision during the training process.

Rachael Saepic (pronouns: she/her) is a counselor trainee who works with children, young adults, and adults. Her specialty interests include: life transitions, sports performance, time management, anxiety, and depression. She utilizes treatment methods that are evidenced-based and meets each client where they are at.

Rachael completed her advanced education at West Virginia University, earning a bachelor’s degree in sport and exercise psychology. She earned a master’s degree in sport and exercise psychology from Springfield College. She is currently a master’s student at Springfield College obtaining a degree in clinical mental health counseling.

Prior to private practice, Rachael interned as a graduate mental performance consultant for various division III sports teams, assisting athletes in enhancing their mental performance and providing necessary support and resources. This experience gave her the opportunity to work specifically with college students and helped her grow a passion for working with this population.

Beyond her clinical work, Rachael is an active member of the American Counseling Association and is initiated into the Rho Alpha Xi Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, an international honor society for professional counselors. These professional affiliations assist her in professional networking and keep up to date with the latest trends in the counseling field.

Rachael’s approach to counseling emphasizes the need to meet clients where they are while utilizing an eclectic and holistic approach in her work. She believes in listening to client concerns openly and non-judgmentally, while fostering collaboration on their counseling journey. She strives to give clients the autonomy to shape their own counseling experience and provides a space where clients can be their whole selves without judgment. For her, the counseling relationship is the most vital aspect of her work, and she strives to be a strong advocate for clients throughout the counseling process. She also believes in drawing on the latest research to provide the best possible care to clients.

Her strengths include: empathy, being an active and open listener, and a calming, nurturing presence.
