RACHEL GOMBASH, LPCC

Rachel Gombash (pronouns: she/her) is a licensed professional clinical counselor who works with children and adolescents. Her specialty interests are child and adolescent issues, grief, trauma, and positive parenting.

Rachel completed her undergraduate education at Bowling Green State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She then completed her graduate education at Kent State University, earning a master’s degree in clinical counseling. Rachel loves to seek new knowledge and is currently teaching herself to speak Hungarian.

Prior to private practice, Rachel has worked with children and adolescents for the past three years in outpatient community mental health, as well as the school setting. She is passionate about helping children and adolescents navigate and overcome struggles related to anxiety, depression, communication, self-esteem, family issues, loss, peer issues, and trauma.

Rachel is trained in evidence-based practices such as trauma-focused interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). She is also trained in Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) and is competent in working with children and adolescents who experience issues related to stability of mood and self-harm.

Rachel’s approach to counseling is person-centered in nature. She believes that clients are the experts of their own story and that counseling is there to help promote healthy and effective skills and strategies to lead a life of wellness. She works with the family, teachers, and school counselors of her clients to effectively implement skills and strategies to assist the client in meeting their goals.
