Rebecca Chajkowski (pronouns: she/her) is an experienced licensed professional clinical counselor who works with children, adolescents, and adults. Her specialty interests include: anxiety, LGBTQ+ issues, gender issues, life transitions, adolescent issues, trauma, and ecotherapy. She utilizes treatment approaches that are evidence-based and uniquely tailored to each client.
Rebecca completed her undergraduate education at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, earning her bachelor’s degree in biblical studies and psychology. She then attended Walsh University for her graduate studies, earning a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. Rebecca has also pursued advanced training in ecotherapy and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
Prior to private practice, Rebecca worked with diverse clients in outpatient and school-based settings.
She spent the first year of her career working with children and adolescents in the foster care system and those who were adopted. Rebecca has dedicated much of her career to helping kids, adolescents, young adults, and families navigate life changes and work through trauma. She has a passion for working with those in the LGBTQ+ community and has helped clients through all stages of the coming out and transition process.
Rebecca’s approach to counseling is relational and trauma informed. She believes that if ready and empowered, clients can process life situations, identify tools, and find balance within their lives. Rebecca works hard to help clients feel comfortable in session by building rapport throughout the therapeutic relationship. She utilizes skills and tools in sessions to help clients feel empowered outside of sessions, to take ownership over their treatment. Rebecca frequently utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy when working with clients.
