A counselor trainee (CT) is a graduate counseling student seeking licensure as a professional counselor. Counselor Trainees have the same scope of practice as a professional counselor, but require much closer supervision during the training process.
Serenity Crowley (pronouns: she/her) is a counselor trainee who works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Her specialty interests include: trauma-informed care, working with adoption, body positivity, and treating severe and persistent mental health diagnoses. Serenity's approach to counseling is collaborative, evidence-based, and uniquely tailored to each client.
Serenity completed her advanced education at Cleveland State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is currently a master’s student at Baldwin Wallace University, completing a degree in clinical mental health counseling. She also holds an associate’s degree in social work from Lorain County Community College. Serenity has a strong passion for continued education and a desire to learn more each day.
Prior to joining Wellness Grove, Serenity gained valuable experience as a Health Unit Coordinator at the Cleveland Clinic, where she developed strong organizational and communication skills while supporting multidisciplinary healthcare teams. She has also been deeply involved in the Homeless Stand Down organization for multiple years focusing on providing advocacy, resources, and emotional support for those impacted by homelessness. These experiences deepen her understanding of the barriers clients face and reinforce her dedication to building trusting therapeutic relationships that empower individuals on their journey toward healing.
Serenity’s approach to counseling is collaborative, while being grounded in the belief that clients thrive in spaces where they feel safe, supported, and empowered to express their needs. She adopts a holistic perspective where she views each client as a whole person and emphasizes the dynamic connections between the mind and body to foster overall wellness. Serenity draws primarily from person-centered therapy and reality therapy, where she integrates existential principles to help clients explore meaning and purpose in their lives. By utilizing these evidence-based approaches, she seeks to empower clients throughout their counseling journey. Serenity’s top priority is ensuring her clients feel consistently supported, heard, and valued in every session.
Her strengths include: open and honest communication, active listening, empathy, kindness, authenticity, compassion, patience, and the flexibility to adapt her approach to meet each client’s unique needs
