

A licensed professional counselor (LPC) is a mental health provider who holds a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling and who has met all requirements set forth by the state licensure board to provide quality mental health care.
Shelby Vacha (pronouns: she/her) is a licensed professional counselor who works with adults. She specializes in burnout, adjustment and life transitions, women’s issues, body image issues, perfectionism, stress, and wellness. She utilizes individualized approaches and techniques based on each client’s needs.
Shelby completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Mount Union and her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Malone University. She is constantly striving to educate herself in order to best serve those around her.
Outside of her clinical practice, Shelby runs her own health coaching business and competes as a bodybuilding athlete. Taking control of her health, overall well-being, and life in general has contributed to her success in the clinical counseling field where she helps clients reach their full potential.
Shelby’s approach to counseling stems from a holistic, humanistic, and cognitive behavioral approach. She believes that fostering a sense of self-efficacy in a nonjudgmental and openly supportive environment is crucial for a client’s personal development. In addition to being empathetic, authentic, and understanding, she takes pride in solving problems, building therapeutic relationships, and helping clients realize that they already have the tools to change their lives. Her strengths include her resiliency and her ability to find the silver lining in any situation.
