

A licensed professional counselor (LPC) is a mental health provider who holds a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling and who has met all requirements set forth by the state licensure board to provide quality mental health care.
The “S” (LPCC-“S”) denotes advanced experience and knowledge in clinical supervision as required by the state licensure board that allows for supervision of LPCs and counselors-in-training.
Susan Weber (pronouns: she/her) is an experienced Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor who works with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. Her specialty interests include: girls’ and women’s issues, integrating creativity, and building hope in the counseling process.
Susan completed her advanced education at The University of Akron, earning her dual bachelor’s degrees in child life and psychology, with minors in both child development and family development and a certificate in sign language. She completed her master’s degree in clinical pastoral counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. Susan has a love of learning and helping people grow in their knowledge and experience.
Susan has worked in the areas of residential care, foster care, school-based counseling, group practice, and community mental health inside doctor offices. She has used her American Sign Language (ASL) skills while counseling clients and has completed additional training in ASL interpretation and school counseling. She has worked in the mental health field for the last 25 years.
Beyond her clinical work, Susan participated in a choir made up of deaf, hearing, and hard-of-hearing people who performed their songs with sign language. Susan has had many unique opportunities to volunteer including taking high school students backpacking in Colorado, teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) in Macedonia, and helping families of kids with special needs in Albania. These roles help fulfill her calling to help and inspire people in their lives.
Susan’s approach to counseling is relational and client-centered because of her desire to help people grow through their experiences in a way that will make them healthy and feel that they are ready to face the world again. In addition to being open and non-judgmental, she is known for using humor, metaphors, psychoeducation, and creative approaches in the sessions.
Her strengths include: kindness, love, empathy, and helping the individual find hope through the journey they are on.
