A licensed professional counselor (LPC) is a mental health provider who holds a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling and who has met all requirements set forth by the state licensure board to provide quality mental health care.
Riley Contipelli (pronouns: he/him) is a licensed professional counselor who works with adolescents and adults. His specialty interests include: LGBTQIA+ issues, anxiety, depression, career issues, and wellness. He uses a person-centered approach that includes evidence-based practices, as well as mindfulness, in his work with clients.
Riley earned his master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Cleveland State University in 2025. He completed his two bachelor’s degrees in psychology and communications at Cleveland State University. Riley has always had a passion for counseling as well as a strong love of learning.
Prior to private practice Riley has served in a variety of settings such as a veterinary hospital as a veterinary assistant and a local school district as a substitute teacher for middle school and high school students.
These experiences have contributed to his ability to empathize with diverse individuals across the lifespan, and to extend support for both personal and career wellness. While working towards his master’s degree, Riley has leaned into specialty coursework focused on counseling LGBTQ+ clients and career development.
Riley’s approach to counseling is focused on empowering clients through mutual vulnerability and building the therapeutic relationship based in authenticity and kindness. He believes that these aspects allow clients to become their best selves. More so, Riley embraces the notion that everyone has the ability to become their ideal self.
His strengths include: humor, empathy, kindness, a love of learning, and mindfulness.
