
A licensed professional counselor (LPC) is a mental health provider who holds a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling and who has met all requirements set forth by the state licensure board to provide quality mental health care.
Hannah Blanken (pronouns: she/her) is a licensed professional counselor who works with adolescents and adults. Her specialty interests include: LGBTQ+ issues, girls’ and women’s issues, gender issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, and integrating creativity and positive psychology into counseling practice. She utilizes treatment approaches that are evidence-based and uniquely tailored to each client.
Hannah completed her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Capella University. She completed her bachelor’s degree at The University of Oklahoma in human behavior, with an intentional focus on both psychology and women and gender studies. Hannah is an active member of the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities and has completed training on the best evidence-based practices for LGBTQ+ clients.
Prior to private practice, Hannah served children and veterans seeking services in non-profit settings, as well as patients with dementia in a veteran’s home. She has also been active in LGBTQ+ community outreach.
Hannah’s approach to counseling is collaborative and based on existentialism, which focuses on empowering the client to find their purpose and inner strength to tackle life’s challenges. She takes a creative approach to counseling to honor the uniqueness of each client and utilizes multicultural competencies in her practice. Hannah works with her clients to help them find control in their lives, their unique purpose, and empowerment.
Her strengths include: kindness, acceptance, open-mindedness, curiosity, and creativity.
