A counselor trainee (CT) is a graduate counseling student seeking licensure as a professional counselor. Counselor Trainees have the same scope of practice as a professional counselor, but require much closer supervision during the training process.

A Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II) is a professional who has earned licensure from the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board to practice substance use disorder counseling under supervision.

Jordan Cox (pronouns: he/him) is a counselor trainee who works with adults.

His specialty interests include: ADHD, depression, anxiety, questions of meaning and purpose, and career development. He utilizes evidence-based approaches, primarily cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and positive psychology, to create a collaborative and individualized counseling experience.

Jordan completed his advanced education at Muskingum University, earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with minors in sociology and political sciences. He is currently a master’s student at Malone University completing a degree in clinical mental health counseling. He is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II) and has received training focused on substance use issues, mental health integration, and career-focused interventions. His educational journey reflects a strong commitment to professional development and lifelong learning in the service of others.

Prior to private practice, Jordan worked with adults in a variety of clinical and community-based settings. He began his career as a case manager and then transitioned to supporting individuals on felony probation through the court system. He has worked in a substance use treatment center, providing both individual and group counseling. These diverse experiences have shaped his holistic and practical approach to therapy, helping him meet clients where they are with empathy and effectiveness.

Beyond his clinical work, Jordan serves on the Board of Directors at RAM Ministries, a faith-based organization committed to restoration and community outreach. This role reflects his passion for service and his belief in holistic support that extends beyond the counseling office. Jordan values opportunities to give back and stays engaged in the broader mission of healing and transformation.

Jordan’s approach to counseling is rooted in creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their challenges and pursue both personal and professional growth. He utilizes a strength-based perspective, helping clients identify and build on what has already worked in their lives. Jordan frequently incorporates psychoeducation and guided visualization techniques to enhance insight, promote clarity, and support long-term change. His calm presence, practical mindset, and genuine curiosity create a space where clients can grow with confidence. His goal is to help clients uncover their strengths, build practical skills, and cultivate a greater sense of fulfillment in their personal and professional lives.

His strengths include: empathy, perseverance, practical problem-solving, building a strong sense of purpose, and the ability to connect with others through authenticity.
