LAUREN MARTINO, LPC

Lauren Martino (pronouns: she/her) is a licensed professional counselor who works with adolescents, adults, and couples. Her specialties include: anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, suicidal ideation, coping skills, relationship concerns, and stress. She utilizes various treatment approaches and theories that are rooted in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, Gestalt therapy, and mindfulness.

Lauren completed her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at John Carroll University in May of 2025. She was a part of the Alpha Sigma Nu (ASN), Jesuit Honor Society, and Chi Sigma Iota, the international counseling honor society. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Kent State University in psychology.

Prior to Wellness Grove, Lauren completed her practicum and internship for counseling at Moore Counseling and Mediation Services.

During this experience, she worked with a diverse group of clients ranging from adolescents to adults to help identify, examine, and treat issues such as substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and PTSD.

Lauren’s approach to counseling is a mix of person-centered therapy and solution focused therapy. She believes in prioritizing a safe, non-judgmental space for her clients so they feel heard and supported. Additionally, she leans on a strength-based approach for goal-setting and achievement. She believes in empowering clients and reminding them that they are the expert in their own lives and that her role is to guide them toward self-discovery, clarity, and growth.

Her strengths include: empathy, genuineness, humor, kindness, and authenticity.
