A licensed professional counselor (LPC) is a mental health provider who holds a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling and who has met all requirements set forth by the state licensure board to provide quality mental health care.
Holly Keller (pronouns: she/her) is an experienced licensed professional counselor who works with adolescents, young adults, and adults. Her specialty interests include: trauma-informed care, mindfulness techniques, life adjustments, sexual assault victims/survivors, anxiety and depression management, grief and loss, and LGBTQIA+ issues. She utilizes evidence-based treatment approaches to customize each session to the unique needs of her clients.
Holly completed her advanced education at Kent State University, earning a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. During her undergraduate career, she studied psychology, as well as mediation and conflict management. Holly also worked as a helpline specialist on a 24/7 crisis helpline where she provided emotional support and crisis intervention for callers and walk-ins.
Holly joins Wellness Grove with almost two years of private practice experience. In her previous counseling role, Holly completed training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and assisted clients in reprocessing traumatic life events. She also co-facilitated a dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) coping skills group to assist clients in managing their mental health symptoms. Holly has experience with a variety of presenting concerns and client demographics.
Holly’s approach to counseling is person-centered and eclectic. She believes that creating a strong therapeutic alliance with each of her clients is fundamental to a positive counseling experience and healing journey. Holly’s approach to counseling is also relational and casual. She is known for using humor, psychoeducation, and pop-culture references to create a safe and non-judgmental environment.
Her strengths include: genuineness, flexibility, promoting self-awareness, and open-mindedness.
