BRYNN MCKENNEY, LPC

Brynn McKenney (pronouns: she/her) is a licensed professional counselor who primarily works with adults. Her specialty interests include: gender issues, aging, life transitions, and grief and loss. She views each person as a unique individual and provides evidence-based treatment approaches alongside creative methods tailored to each person’s needs.

Brynn completed her advanced education at Kent State University and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at Kent State University and graduated in 2021. This unique background has led her to bring a holistic approach to counseling, recognizing the connection between mind and body in the healing process.

Prior to her time in the mental health field, Brynn gained valuable experience in various volunteer settings, including hospice care, where she supported patients and families through end-of-life transitions.

These experiences have shaped her compassionate, empathetic approach to counseling, particularly when working with individuals dealing with grief, trauma, and life transitions. She has also received training in motivational interviewing, as well as crisis response planning for suicide prevention.

Brynn’s approach to counseling is client-centered and grounded in empathy, active listening, and respect for each person’s unique life journey. She seeks to collaborate with clients in building strength, resilience, self-compassion, and self-awareness.

Her strengths include: emotional intelligence, a deep sense of empathy, and a genuine passion for social justice and advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights.
