A licensed professional counselor (LPC) is a mental health provider who holds a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling and who has met all requirements set forth by the state licensure board to provide quality mental health care.
The second “C” (LPC“C”) denotes advanced clinical experience and knowledge as required by the state licensure board that allows for independent practice (meaning, without the need for supervision).
The “S” (LPCC-“S”) denotes advanced experience and knowledge in clinical supervision as required by the state licensure board that allows for supervision of LPCs and counselors-in-training.
A Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) has met all training requirements in order to become specialized in providing advanced treatment and services rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is especially helpful for issues such as anxiety, Panic Disorder, phobias, OCD and social anxiety.
Paige Wallace (pronouns: she/her) is an experienced licensed professional clinical counselor supervisor who works with adolescents and adults. Her specialty interests include: gerontology, addiction, anxiety, grief, crisis counseling and trauma. She utilizes treatment approaches that are evidence-based and client-centered.
Paige completed her advanced education at The University of Akron, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology, and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. She also earned a graduate certificate in gerontology and took specialized coursework in addiction counseling. She also considers herself to be a life-long learner.
Prior to private practice, Paige has worked with diverse clients for the past 2 years in a community mental health setting and a substance use treatment facility. She has strong experience in assessments and evaluation, crisis intervention, and working with court appointed clients who experience substance use issues or other court involvement.
Paige’s approach to counseling involves meeting the clients where they are at in terms of change, and empowering them to take control of their life story through motivational interviewing (MI). She develops connections with clients that are rooted in safety, authenticity, vulnerability, and mutual respect. In addition to being a non-judgmental, empathic, and compassionate listener, she works collaboratively with others and is known for using humor, coping skills, psychoeducation, and metaphors in sessions.
Her strengths include: kindness, respect, collaboration, empathy and open-mindedness.
Paige has served as a supervisor for licensed professional counselors and counselors-in-training since 2024, particularly in a private practice setting. Paige engages in ongoing continuing education specific to supervision ethics, strategies, models/approaches, and contemporary issues. Paige’s approach to supervision is rooted in person-centered theory, a love for teaching, and helping counselors identify their individual strengths and goals in their career. More so, Paige also values integrating evidenced-based approaches into counseling practices that are uniquely tailored to promote mental health and wellness for diverse clients.
